As part of our "Go to High School Go to College" initiative, the BAL Foundation has provided financial assistance and support to aspiring Baltimore County high school students in pursuit of post-secondary education, who exemplify high scholastic standards, achievement, and/or community service.
scholarships and requirements
1. Onward and Upward Scholarship - $1,000
This scholarship will be awarded to high achieving students entering any Community College, or Four-Year College or University in the Fall of 2025. The minimum GPA requirement is 3.50.
2. HBCU Scholarship - $1,000
This Scholarship will be awarded to one outstanding scholar attending an HBCU (Historically Black College or University) in the fall. The minimum GPA requirement is 3.0.
3. Rev. Douglas B. Sands Book Scholarship - $500
This scholarship will be awarded to a student seeking support with books or supplies while attending any Community College, or Four-Year College or University in the Fall of 2025. The minimum GPA requirement is 3.0. (Multiple Awards may be made for this Scholarship)
4. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Service Scholarship - $500
This Scholarship will be awarded to a student that has demonstrated superior community service. Showing an outstanding record of achievement in community involvement, volunteering, or other activism. (Multiple Awards may be made with this Scholarship)
